Jawor is situated at south-west of Poland at Lower-silesian province near country road nr 3 and near highway A-4. Geographic location of town: 16°11' E and 51°03' N. Town is situated in Lowland Silesian-Lusatian over river called Nysa Szalona, the right tributary of the Kaczawa river, that flows through softly rippled plain of place where the town Jawor is situated. Mentioned plain belongs to macro-region named Chojnow Upland. It is restricted from the south by Kaczawskie Plateau and from the south-east side by Strzegom Eminences. CHURCH OF ST. (203.7 m above sea level). The Nysa Szalona river is situated at the lowest terrain (at north-west part of city).
Length of Jawor’s administrative borders amount 23 km. Stretch from south to north amount 7 km, from east to west – 6 km. Area of the city covers 18.8 km2. Jawor has 26 thousand residents currently. Contemporary sculpture of field of the town and surrounding area hides in its complex geological construction of the ground, which history date back 400 million years. In terms of geologic the area belongs to old-sudety called Przedsudecki Block. From the south east there are eminences of solid granite that belong to rough terrain of Strzegom City and its surrounding area.
